As a native New Yorker I’ve always loved the artistic energy be it from the street music to the high fashion boutiques on 5thAvenue.
My passion for clothing, fashion and art lead to the idea of making handbags from clothing. Changing the concept and vision of handbags. My mother first fanned my curiosity by teaching me to sew at an early age. I guess it was no small wonder that I later attended the School of Visual Arts to use my emerging creativity to learn about art and web design. I always dreamed of combining my passion for art and fashion. I created my first outfit when I was 12 years old. I never dreamed I would be designing my own handbags. The idea of Bottom bags was born in 2003.One day I was thinking of what to do with a pair of pants that had gone out of style. I decided to make bag out of them. The response from both friends and strangers was phenomenal. After that the business idea of creating handbags from my favorite clothing was born. When I ran out of clothing I scoured the city and my friends closets to look for fun and interesting items from which to create unique handbags fashions. Each one has it’s own distinctive personality. Some are sexy, others comfortable some are whimsical. Now I make handbags from anything and anyone, for your children and even a favorite pet.
